Terms of Use
Terms of Use for families
Effective 2026-10-14
These terms apply when you use Kineo to find, book or pay for a class, lesson, program or camp, or use My bookings. Kineo is operated by Cole Brink, a sole proprietor, under the business name Kineo registered in Alberta, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada ("Kineo", "we", "us"). You agree to them when you tick the box as you book. They are short, so please read them.
1. What Kineo is
Kineo is the booking and records tool that businesses use to take bookings: the booking form, payments, waivers, confirmations and reminders, and the record of your booking that the business keeps. Kineo does not run any program, and it is not the business you book with.
2. The business runs the program
When you book, your agreement for the program is with the business that runs it, not with Kineo. The business is responsible for its program, including:
- supervision, safety, staff and their screening, facilities, equipment and first aid;
- what it charges, its refund and cancellation policy, and any refund it gives;
- its waiver and any other form it asks you to sign, and what they say;
- how it uses the information you give it.
The business is paid directly, through Stripe, the payment processor, and Kineo's fee comes out of each payment. If the business has a refund policy, you see it before you pay. For a refund, a cancellation, or any question about the program, contact the business. Kineo stores a copy of any waiver you sign, but the waiver is between you and the business: Kineo doesn't write or review it.
3. Kineo doesn't vet or endorse businesses
Kineo does not vet, inspect, license, supervise or endorse the businesses that use it, their staff or their programs. That includes businesses shown in Kineo's listings, directory or discovery feed: a listing is not a recommendation. Listings are written or approved by Kineo from information the business provides; Kineo does not check that information, and approving a listing is not an endorsement. Before you book, check that a program suits your child. Ask the business about things like staff screening, certifications, supervision ratios, insurance and first aid.
4. Your information
Medical and safety details. You are responsible for giving the business accurate, complete and current information, especially allergies, medications, medical conditions and emergency contacts, and for telling the business when anything changes. The business relies on it to keep your child safe. Kineo shows the business what you enter; it does not check it.
Privacy. The business decides what its booking form asks and how it uses your answers, and Kineo holds that information for it. Your Kineo account (My bookings) is Kineo's responsibility, and you can see or delete it at any time. Our Privacy Policy explains both, and who to ask about each.
5. Using Kineo
You must be the age of majority where you live to book (18 in Alberta, 19 in British Columbia). If you book for a child, you must be their parent or legal guardian, or have one's permission. Don't give information you know is false, book for someone without the right to, or try to interfere with Kineo or reach anyone else's information.
6. Our responsibility to you
Except as set out below, Kineo is not responsible for the program itself, or for injury, loss or damage that happens at it, because Kineo doesn't run it. We work to keep Kineo accurate and available, but it is provided as it is, and it may sometimes be unavailable or have errors.
As far as the law allows, Kineo is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and Kineo's total liability to you for anything to do with your use of Kineo is limited to CAD $100. This doesn't limit our liability for fraud, for death or injury caused by our own negligence, or for anything else the law doesn't let us limit.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be given up by agreement, including under Alberta's Consumer Protection Act and British Columbia's Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act.
7. The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If you live in another province, you also keep the protection of its consumer protection law, and nothing here stops you from bringing a claim in the courts where you live.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the version in force. Each booking records the version you agreed to, and a booking stays under that version; a new version applies to bookings made after it takes effect.
9. Contact
Questions about a program, a refund or your child's booking: contact the business you booked with. Questions about these terms or your Kineo account: hello@kineo.ca.
