Kineo or κινέω is an ancient Greek word that means to move, or set in motion. Yoga is an old sanskirt word that can be translated as union of the spirit.

kineo YOGA was created to offer high quality somatic movement and yoga classes taught in a simple, clear, down to earth way.

Classes are taught one-on-one in the comfort of your home.


A somatic movement practice integrates the whole being, your body, your energy, your consciousness. A somatic practice is taught in a spirit of exploration, of curiosity. A somatic movement teacher will guide you with specific physical exercises, questions or themes, and invite you to follow your own sensations and embrace your experience as a way to learn and respect what is true or ‘right’ for you now, as you move.

This is a wonderful tool for self-care and wellbeing.

Yoga’s benefits on our body and mind are many. As you may know, yoga is not just a series of movements and postures, it’s also an attitude towards life. The practice of physical yoga can be used as a tool to go deep within our body and spirit, so we can raise our awareness and learn more about ourselves and be more at peace with ourselves and the world around us.


Hello. My name is Meryem Alaoui. Nice to meet you.

I’m a professional contemporary dancer, certified yoga instructor and somatic movement educator in training (through the School for Body-Mind Centering®), and the founder of kineo YOGA.

For the past 4 years, I’ve been helping women like you live more peaceful, grounded and happier lives.

I’ve been studying movement and dance for the past 30 years. I’ve been teaching mindful hatha yoga for the past 5 years. I lived at a meditation centre for 2.5 years, to meditate and do volunteer work full-time, but decided to return to the ‘outside world’ to connect more and share what I learned with other people like you, who are also interested in finding more calm and peace in their life. I’m currently deepening my study of somatic movement through the School for Body-Mind Centering®.

I offer individualized private instruction in somatic movement and yoga in the comfort of your own home. Sessions are tailored to the unique physical needs and goals of each client. Each private session is a luxurious 90-minutes long class, for a deeper and more comprehensive practice.

My classes are safe, informative and warm taught with care to help you learn from your own body, from your own experience for lasting change. Together, we will create a supportive environment for your body and spirit to heal.
